Naf Naf Grill started in Naperville, Illinois when Sahar and Elan the original founders opened the doors of their old Naf Naf building on Ogden Ave. They put their life savings into the restaurant betting that the people of Naperville would come to love their food.
They soon found out that their bet would pay off. Naf Naf became an instant hit and was featured in numerous publications and television shows. The small 1200 foot building that had no air conditioning soon became filled with customers craving the addictive Naf Naf food.
Six months after Naf Naf opened David and Justin who own a local business in the area came in for lunch. They were so impressed with the food that they asked Sahar and Elan if they were interested in forming a partnership.
The four of them formed a partnership and opened the first concept store in the Freedom Commons development in Naperville. Naf Naf became a bigger hit in its professionally designed 75 seat restaurant that features a modern design and renewable materials.
Off of the success of their Naperville location , they decided to open a second location in Aurora, Illinois near Fox Valley Mall. Soon after, their third location opened in Niles, Illinois on Touhy Ave.
What started out as a business partnership between four guys became a great friendship, and a shared passion for serving great food. More Naf Naf's are soon to come in Chicago and other locations as the partners spread the Naf Naf love.
The centerpiece of every Naf Naf Grill is our open kitchen and bakery. We cook everything in view so you are able to see the fresh pitas being baked to the mouth watering shawarmas spinning over an open flame. In addition to preparing all of our foods in full view, we assemble your bowls and pita sandwiches directly in front of you. As you go through our line, you'll customize your pita or bowl with a delicious array of proteins, freshly prepared salads and sauces. The end result is food made with what we like to call the "Naf Love!"
Shawarma, the right way
Most shops buy meat frozen, throw it on the grill, and pass it off to their customers as something resembling Shawarma. At Naf Naf Grill, Shawarma is done the right way: hand-building cones with the freshest poultry and beef available, slowly roasting it throughout the day, and using state-of-the-art machinery to shave the best possible cuts of Shawarma the world has ever tasted.
While other shops may use bagged falafel mix, we use fresh chickpeas, onions, and peppers. They are ground in-house every day to produce our delightfully crisp award-winning falafel.
Fresh artisan pitas
Our handmade pitas are baked in small batches from morning to evening, which is the only way to create the melt-in-your-mouth cloud-like pitas we're famous for.
Tahini sauce done right
Most tahini sauces on the market have a watery quality because they're cut with substitute yogurt or dairy products. At Naf Naf Grill, we use pure tahini paste which provides our smooth and nutty sauce its rich thickness.
Hot Sauce or S'khug. By either name, it's delicious
Known around the world as S'khug. We just call it Hot Sauce. What everyone can agree on is that our version is seriously delicious. A blend of jalapenos, red pepper, garlic, cumin, and other seasonings made in-house every day.
Salads from scratch
Other shops rely on uninspired slices of tomato and bagged lettuce to fill their sandwiches. At Naf Naf Grill, we offer an assortment of handmade salads made from scratch daily.
